The event Speakeasy comes from the embodiment of what the Loft Studio Space is. A studio Gallery space that operates differently, undercover, a lounge for New York city's artists and native creatives to mingle, network and entertain the crowds and audiences that come to see quality art in the heart of Chelsea and connect with the artists. With This concept, Speakeasy has been our most successful and largest event to date. with a week left to go on the calendar in march Speakeasy sold out so fast that by the following Monday leading up to that Friday show we had sold out again! Artists were attending and showcasing new and favorite works of theirs, Musical performers were booked, and people could not wait to get into this event and have a great time.
from the moment it hit 6:00 our lobby was filled with guests eager to see the art and experience Speakeasy, Unfortunately we had a bit of a incident running errands in the ran an hour earlier which caused set up to take a few extra 15 minutes. However, Our lovely and excited guests had no problem waiting that extra 15 minutes. Co-founders Emmanuel Knight and Gerard Thelemaque took the time to explain to them all about 529 Arts Avenue, what it stands for, how it started and what inspires these showcases they throw. even more enticed guests boarded the elevators up to #12B and was introduced to Speakeasy.
Immediately guests took to the walls to explore the art, mingle with each other, take photos of the space and enjoy themselves! despite the rain we received about 7 last minute rsvps for our event as more people came. It was surprising to see how many guests came out to support and enjoy the art and music.
By 8:45 our downstairs Loft lounge was filled with our guests ready for our musical performance section. Our music performance section of the night featured 4 different musical art styles which were fun, and engaging for the crowds which you can see in our highlight video above.
From people live drawing in our signage sketchbook to artists mingling and connecting with the crowd and with each other 529 Arts Avenue's speakeasy was a great success offering a different kind of gallery experience. A intimate studio experience featuring New York's local NYC art scene, local art lovers, musicians, and native creatives. A platform for those with imagination to bring their creations and visions to life and show who they are to the world.
