The first weekend of march was a busy weekend for artists! with the New York armory show and open studios tour throughout nyc neighborhoods. You can say it was a bit of an artist appreciation weekend and 529 Arts Avenue was among the open studios showcasing our work and exhibition space.
Different than the rest.
What made 529 Arts Avenue's open studios tour a different that the others in Chelsea was our open invitation to showcase not only our works of art but The art of our resident 529 Arts Avenue artists. at our 2 day Open studios event 529 Arts Avenue used our studio time to talk about our mission, as well as our NYC and NJ local artists.
In addition to showcasing our 529 Arts Avenue Artists, we also set up our pop-up shop inside our studio to give a glimpse of what we do when were selling off site! we enraged our guests as they checked out our shop store pieces and told them the history behind out Loft store. Our loft store supports the artistic endeavors and program of 529 Arts Avenue sales made from our shop goes towards our exhibitions, workshops, and after school classes.
We have recently moved our online shop to Etsy!
check it out here!
all and all it was a very successful two days which inspired us to continue to host open studio tours of our space showcasing our artists, our programs and classes, and new projects/exhibitions that are/will be happening!
stay tuned for our next open House event!
